About

The Sport and Active Leisure industry is an exciting and growing area, and is subject to a growing focus thanks to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

SkillsActive work to develop the demand, quality and the supply of skills and training provision across the sport, fitness, playwork, outdoors and caravan industries. We bring these areas together in collaboration in order to lobby funding agencies and policy makers for improvements to the sector. We link employers with training providers, policy makers and individuals to ensure that the importance of skills needs are communicated and addressed, and that workforce development is in line with what the active leisure and learning sector needs.

Beijing 2008 Section

We setup the dedicated Beijing 2008 section of the blog, where we offerered an insight into the games from behind the scenes thanks to two Sheffield Hallam students who we supported in their trip to Beijing to join the media team at the 2008 Olympics.
